Don’t start with your audience and list building before launching your new online revenue stream. Really don’t… 

Creating a new online revenue stream for your business takes a lot of time and energy. It can be really overwhelming. Even when you are a seasoned entrepreneur. 

However, it shouldn’t be overwhelming. Instead it should take you on a journey where you grow revenue AND also personally.

As a multi-passionate / polymath entrepreneur, I have created products for different niches / audiences. And I have my experience in list building and playing the social media game. 

With our client management software product for coaches, at mycoachoffice.com we do grow our list on a weekly basis. Yet, that is not sufficient to have a future proof business model that ensures me of the freedom I want.

And you have heard it all before.. “Start with your audience and build a list first before launching your product.”

This is not the best advice I got when I just started out and also when I advanced into the entrepreneurial journey.

Building a new product takes time

I know. It makes a lot of sense. And while it isn’t hard to see that when you don’t focus on your audience and solving the right problems, your business model falls apart fast. Leaving you with few sales and a lot of frustrations. 

Building a new product takes time and that is okay

When building an online business, you know you are in it for a long ride. 

And that is okay. Because it gives you the time to learn how you can provide the best value to your customer. 

Time is also what helps you to figure out how running your business works out for YOU.
As you also have a personal life that you don’t want to give up. 

Start with YOU

So where should you start when creating a new revenue stream / product for your online business?

Where you really should start is with YOU instead. Knowing your own manual and what enlightens YOU is what ensures for a future without being overwhelmed while growing a business.

Also when you already have a successful business, knowing YOU will help you to prevent overwhelm AND how to sustain success..

Why? Because building a business takes time. And when you don’t enjoy the work that you need to put into it, then you will not be able to build a solid business foundation that gives you freedom. 

In fact, nature has also given us systems that will allow us to just do that. We have been given our natural talents that allow us to do work effortlessly and with a lot of joy.

As a leader of a business, you should know what helps the business most. And that requires knowledge of yourself. So that you can hire a team that does the other work that is needed.
